Hello!
So guess what... I'm excited! I'm actually excited about this diet again!! I am down -1.8 lbs from last week for a total of -17 lbs! My weight this morning was 173.2 lbs!
These are the kind of results I can get excited about and that can keep me motivated.
Truthfully, I'm not sure what it is that I have done differently. I did a 30 minute bike ride the other day. I intended to make the bike ride apart of my routine, but so far this week, I've only done it once.
Also, my husband began cutting out junk food this week as well. That's certainly making it easier for me to stay on track but since I didn't eat his junk food for the past 2 months I can't say its the reason I have had better results this week.
Whatever the reason, it feels good to be excited again.
I have a wedding to attend this Saturday. I went shopping for a new dress and although I didn't find one that I want, it sure was nice to try things on and not HATE the way that they looked. The results of losing 17 lbs is definitely noticeable and for that, I am thrilled.
I was watching a documentary on food last night on Netflix. The title escapes me at the moment. The suggestion of the film was that refined sugar and flour are just as harmful in their effects and their addictiveness as cocaine. It was a very interesting program and although a lot if the information contained in its message is common sense, it was good to watch to have the message driven home.
I'm very proud of the changes of I have made to my diet. I cannot believe that I have kept on track for more than 2 months. I don't think I have ever stayed committed to anything for this length of time. I guess once you break the cycle of carbs causing you to crave more carbs, then staying on track becomes easier. That's not to say that I don't occasionally want those high fat, high sugar carbs like poutine, pizza and cup cakes, but that by avoiding eating one it is easier to avoid eating number 2 and number 3.
One thing that the documentary focussed on was the harmful effects of diet soda. And again, it's common sense, I should know better than to drink this stuff, but it has become my crutch since being on the Dr Poon diet. I'm not ready yet, to remove it from my diet, but I would like to.
I'd really love to hear from you if you are also on Dr Poon's diet. Please feel free to comment below.
Here's to another week of staying the course.
